Weekend Wedding Ideas is something that more and more couples are planning weekend weddings, since many are no longer marrying in the town where family and friends are. This provides incentive for guests to travel from far away; your wedding becomes a catalyst for a family reunion and a memorable gathering. It does not have to be expensive and can give others a chance to get involved.
The following are some ideas:
Friday: You might start the weekend by having a friend or relative host a welcoming party Friday evening or expand the rehearsal dinner to include out-of-town guests.
Saturday: A luncheon, picnic or barbeque can be hosted by another relative or friend, followed by an afternoon of activities. Plan a gold tournament, tennis match, or game of croquet. Everyone is invited.
- Saturday Evening: A formal evening wedding and reception, starting at 6:00 or 6:30 pm would make the perfect ending to a great day.
- Sunday: The bride and groom stay in town to greet their guests at a late morning garden brunch, followed by an afternoon softball game.
Sunday evening: The bride and groom may choose to say their goodbyes and leave for their honeymoon as guests leave at their leisure. Or they may all decide to stay for a pizza party that evening and say their good-byes over coffee and muffins the next morning.
The plan above is just to give you an example; the options are endless.
